Valle Dorata is a terrain with two swimming pools located in the countryside of Balestrate, a small Sicilian coastal town. You can stay in one of the three independent holiday cottages, "Mimosa", "Ulivo" and "Giuggiolo" or in the apartment "Panoramica" with its view of the sea and the mountains that surround the gulf area.
By going up the external stairs you’ll arrive at apartment “Panoramica”. You enter in the fully operational open kitchen with a large table. Water is purified by means of an installation under the sink which turns it into drinking-water. From the kitchen you have a view of the sea and Balestrate’s countryside. The living room is equipped with air conditioning, heating, a big TV and a (sleeping) couch. From the kitchen you can also enter the bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom with shower next to it. There are two balconies: one at the front of the house and the other at the west side. You’ll arrive at your private roof terrace taking the external stairs. Here you’ll have a great view and there’s lots of room to sunbathe, read, barbecue etc.
Mimosa is the smallest independent holiday cottage and is suitable for two persons, or four when using the sleeping couch.. You enter the cottage with on the left side the living area with (sleeping) couch, air conditioning, heating and TV and the open kitchen (with water purification installation) on the right side. The bedroom has a double bed with a bathroom with shower next to it. You’ll have your own piece of terrain to be able to relax and enjoy the sunny days.
The other independent holiday cottage, “Giuggiolo”, is bigger and suitable for four persons, or a maximum of six when using the sleeping couch in the living area. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other one with two single beds. There’s a bathroom with shower, an open kitchen with water purification installation and the cottage is equipped with air-conditioning and a heating system.
Land and extra buildings
Both cottages are located in a green area with a big garden. All guest can swim in the private swimming pools. Valle Dorata is located in a little valley and you won’t be disturbed by the sound of passing cars.
Culture
The people that once ruled this sunny island, like the Romans, the Greeks, the Elymians and the Arabs all left behind traces of their culture and civilization. Good examples are the temple and amphitheatre in Segesta with a view of the "Golfo di Castellammare", "La Valle dei Templi" in Agrigento with its beautiful temples and Selinunte, Europe’s biggest archeological park. From Balestrate you can take little cultural day trips. Nearby are Erice, Marsala, with its famous salt pans (“le saline”), Trapani, the magnificent cathedral of Monreale, Castellammare del Golfo, Cefalů and so on. Obviously you shouldn’t forget the city of Palermo: here you’ll find so many things to see that you could easily visit it more than once during your holiday. The city is nearby and easily reachable using the highway. There is however a much more interesting road that will take you trough the mountains to the south side with a beautiful view of the city and all the towns that surround it in the big valley.

Balestrate has a beautiful beach where you’ll also find a couple of "lidos" which leads all the way to Castellammare del Golfo, a famous coastal town with a nice little harbour.
