Special offer
To celebrate the completion of the restoration of the entire site, we offer one or two extra rooms in the back house free of charge. For your firends, children or grand children?
The offer goes for those who apply before 12 march 2007.

Interior
In this Rustico of eight by eight metres, as much space as possible has been left open. Downstairs there is a large, multifunctional room, including an open kitchen. Only the bathroom is separated. Parties for 30 people and more have been hosted here. Upstairs there is a very large living with a sofa bed, a bedroom and an attic with a bed.

Land and extra buildings
The Rustico is situated opposite the back of the gentleman’s farm Torre Beccati di La. In between is a cortile (courtyard) of 12 metres. The pergolata (2.5 x 2.5 m), surrounded by vine branches, is exclusively for the residents of the Rustico, and offers full privacy.

Culture
Although cultural attractions may not be the major reason to come to the province of Biella, it can be a delight to be the only tourist wandering around in the 14th century Baptisterium, or admiring the rural San Secondo, dating back to 900 AD. But the ancient upper town of Biella is worth a visit too. And finally, Torino and Milano are only a one hour and a quarters’ drive away.

Surroundings
The house is located in the foothills of the Alps. Between the high mountains and the Po Valley, a seven minutes’ drive from the city of Biella. The house can be the starting point of many walks. Fifteen minutes towards the north, there are cable lifts taking you up to a height of 2,400 metres. Half an hour towards the south there is the Lago di Viverone (ideal for swimming, rowing, water skiing and so on and so forth).

Activities
The region of Piemonte, and the province of Biella in particular, is a paradise for (sporty) nature lovers. High mountains and valley, nature reserve and lake district: it’s all there for you. Almost all sports are practised there.
But reading a good book under the pergola too, can make an excellent pastime. By the way, our home library contains over 2,000 books. And we also have a fine collection of CDs and DVDs.

Activities in area
Climbing, Swimming, Skiing, Golf, Walking, Mountain-biking, Horse-riding, Water sports, Mountaineering, Hang-gliding, para-gliding, Tennis

Food
Piemonte is known for its refined cuisine, combined with exquisite wines. The chilly Erbaluce di Caluso is lovely in summer. But in the autumn we like to combine the truffles with different types of Nebbiolos (ranging from Barrolo and Barbaresco to Gattinara). In winter we drink the somewhat rustic Barbera, or the more delicate Bramaterra (great with rabbit). And in summer … oh, all these gorgeous antipasti!

Accessibility
Road directions
From Aosta, go into the direction of Torino. Leave the motorway at Quincinetto. From there (at the other side of the water) you follow the road to Ivrea. At Borgofranco the road to Biella is signposted on the left hand side. Via two short tunnels this road leads to Mongrando.
From Mongrando follow the provincial road to Biella, until you get to the Pollone roundabout. At the roundabout go three-quarters of the way round (turn left), and follow the road up the hill. After about two kilometres, straight after the cemetery, keep following the road towards the right. This road will take you, after an angle of 90 degrees, to the Piazza San Sebastiano. At the right (in front of the church) you will find the Via Cangio, where the house is located at number 2. The gate which, via the cortile, allows entrance to the Rustico as well as the house, can be found at number 4.

Further remarks
The Rustico is part of a 17th century farm complex, comprising a front and a back house, and the Rustico itself. Different combinations are possible. The entire complex (45 metres deep) offers generous space to some 35 people. Call us for discussing the possibilities, or check out our website at www.torenbeek.com/pollone.
