Apartment At the Arsenale. The letters xyz stand for the measures, height, length and width that caracterizes the interior; a very high room and a very long, low corridor that ends with an arched window directly on the canal. The apartment is completely equipped to accommodate 4 persons, or 5 when using the extra fieldbed for a child. Two bedrooms, a bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower cabin and bathtub, a small extra toilet, a livingroom with open kitchen and a long corridor with a lounge area with a view on the canal. The window panes are made of mirrowglass, so the gondeliers look at themselves while you have an undisturbed view at whatever happens on the canal. The major part of the furniture is made purposely for this apartment. The heating is unusual. The mirrors and two colored balls are elements that emit infrared waves, producing a comfortable warmth, comparable with the heat of sunbeams.   Land and extra buildings Our apartment is situated on the ground level, with an indipendent entrance in a narrow street at Campo Do Pozzi, in the heart of historic Venice, between Arsenale and Rialto, just away from the main tourist trails, in a quiet neighbourhood.   Culture Culture enough in Venice for every taste and everything on walking distance from the house. During the summer it can be interesting to visit the Biennale (every year either on contemporary art, or architecture). Except for the exibition itself the visit is made special by the locations, the beautiful industrial architecture of the Arsenale and the national pavillons of the Giardini, and many houses all over the city. If you prefer to stay at home you can be comfortable on the coach looking at a dvd film (you might bring this yourself since our collection isn’t very big yet) or international television on the 32” TV.   Surroundings Campo due Pozzi is the quiet square with a bar where you can sit comfortably outside to have a drink or a quick lunch with good homemade lasagne or sandwiches. Piazza San Marco is just a ten-minute walk away and in five minutes you’re at the nearest water-bus stop. Also the Arsenale is just around the corner.   Activities In Venice there’s always a lot to do. Beside the cultural visits to museums and churches, the city is also the right place to keep in form. Walking is an unavoidable activity because of the complete lack of cars and trying to found out your way in the miriad of small streets and alleys can be a nice sport. The St. Helena and Giardini neighbourhoods are very nice places for walking or footing, with lots of green and little tourists. In the St. Helena area you can do ginnastics and use the basketfield, or just sit on a bench under a pinetree at the laguna, looking at the traffic on the water and the wonderfull panorama, or just reading a book. If you love the sea, a boat brings you to Lido in just a quarter of an hour where a pleasant sandbeach is waiting for you.   Food Specially for the lovers of seafood, venice is a special place to go out eating, although you need to know the right places. In our apartment you’ll find information on some nice restaurants, but it’s also a good thing to know that you can make your own food in the very well equipped kitchen or just warm up the tipical italian food that you can buy already cooked in the “rosticceria”.   Accessibility You can reach the house from the railwaystation or the airport Marco Polo by water-bus. At the bus-stop one of us will be waiting for you to bring you to the apartment.   Further remarks Minimal rent 3 nights, 600 euro, a night extra 180 euro. During longer stays the apartment will be cleaned ones a week with the change of bedlinen and towels. Initial and final cleaning, bedlinen, towels and the consume of water and electricity are included in the price.
