All of our lodgings have separate entrances. The kitchens are fully equipped and there is a washing machine and TV in every apartment. The apartments can accommodate 2 to 6 people. Each lodging has a private outdoor area with garden furniture.
Individual rooms with separate entrance and private bathroom with shower are also available. Breakfast can be served on request. Prices start at € 395 per week. Available on request: baby crib, baby high chair, ironing board and iron, barbecue.
Land and extra buildings
Agriturismo "Il Cantastorie" is a 5-hectare estate, set in the midst of lush olive groves, located in the Valdinievole area near Montecatini Terme. Each apartment and room looks out on our beautiful, peaceful olive grove and the surrounding hills in the distance.
The olive farm "Il Cantastorie", established in 2006, is owned and run by Michael and Cristina. Before settling down in Tuscany, Cristina worked as a translator and a teacher of Italian as a foreign language while Michael was a network engineer for a large ICT company.
Culture
"Il Cantastorie" organizes short Italian language courses for its foreign guests. The minimum number of participants is 4, in which case all participants should have a similar level of language ability. For bigger groups, different levels are possible. The courses are organized by week, comprising 5 days of lessons, from Monday to Friday. The courses take place in the morning and can last 3 to 4 hours.
Surroundings
Agriturismo "Il Cantastorie" is conveniently located for easy access to some of the main art sites in Tuscany. Florence is just 25 miles away, Pisa 30, Lucca 15, Siena 62. The small town Vinci, birthplace of the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci, has an excellent museum dedicated to Leonardo and is only half an hour away. Pistoia, the provincial capital characterised by important Roman and Renaissance monuments, can be reached in 15 minutes.
Activities
Agriturismo "Il Cantastorie" also offers the opportunity to participate in several interesting workshops and leisure activities. On request we organize: painting mini-courses, ceramics workshops, basket making courses, horse riding excursions, cooking workshops, and wine tasting courses. All these activities are held by local professionals.
"Il Cantastorie" has a vast hall located in a former horse stable. This location has been transformed into a big kitchen equipped with professional-quality appliances. Apart from tasting events, presentations, theme events and other activities, the hall is used for cooking lessons and workshops.
"Il Cantastorie" makes its facilities available to cooking schools and instructors who want to organize courses in Tuscany.
"Il Cantastorie" also organizes cooking lessons with its own instructors for groups of 6 to 12 participants.
